As a transportation coordinator, you will handle all logistical activities related to the efficient pick-up and delivery of raw materials from various mills throughout North America to multiple processing plants and our nationwide customer base.
A successful transportation coordinator will work seamlessly with members of our sales, administrative and management Teams. The Transportation Coordinator will be part of a group committed to offering the very best possible supplier/processor/customer experience. A positive attitude is a must.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily freight logistics, including assigning and dispatching shipments using trucks and intermodal carriers
- Handle communication with carriers and brokers, prepare freight dispatches, and ensure timely pick-ups and deliveries
- Track shipments, reconcile dispatches with invoices, and manage payments
- Develop and maintain relationships with carriers and brokers, negotiate freight rates, and ensure compliance with company policies
- Resolve shipping and logistics issues, including investigating complaints related to lost, damaged, or short shipments
Qualifications:
- Self-starter willing to work independently with minimal supervision
- Must be skillful in organizing, prioritizing, and managing time
- Strong interpersonal and team-focused communication skills
- Comfortable with multitasking and working in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Ability to collect data, identify & define problems and create effective solutions
- Competency in Microsoft Office Suite of tools
- Understanding of invoicing and inventory management is a plus
